Jurgen Klopp Hopeful Of Adding More Talent To This Liverpool Squad

Jurgen Klopp wants to bring in more fresh faces this summer, according to The Athletic.

Liverpool have been very quiet in the transfer window, signing just one player in Konstantinos Tsimikas from Olympiakos.

The youngster was a necessary signing to serve as a backup to Andy Robertson. But otherwise, the Reds have failed to bring in anybody to upgrade their current lineup. Klopp could understandably feel satisfied with his players at the back of winning the Premier League and the Champions League in the past two seasons.

However, fans want to see a more stronger squad in terms of quality and numbers. Without the arrival of Timo Werner, Liverpool still don’t have any able backup for their front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

There was strong links to Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara but Liverpool has not found an agreement yet. Watford’s Ismaila Sarr is also on Klopp’s shortlist and few other names. If the manager wants to move on these players, he will need to convince the board into funnelling some cash his way.

Liverpool can raise funds through the sales of Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic but they will still need to invest. If Wijnaldum were to leave for Barcelona, perhaps they could use that sum of cash to bring in Thiago.
