Jurgen Klopp Not Thinking About Contract Extension

Jurgen Klopp insists he is not thinking about a contract extension.

Liverpool’s biggest hero in recent history, Klopp has a deal until June 2024.

Given how much he has achieved at Anfield, ending Liverpool’s 30-year drought of winning the English title and making them one of the best teams in Europe, fans would ideally want him to stay for longer.

This year’s moment of winning the Premier League was underwhelming due to the absence of fans. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Liverpool had to see out the season without any spectators and even could not participate in a celebration drive.

Klopp was asked if he would add time to his contract to compensate for a difficult period of playing in empty stadiums. He said, “It’s a very interesting point of view but it didn’t cross my mind yet.

“I have enough other things to think about than about when my contract is ending. I didn’t think for a long time about it and I will not start now!”

Klopp has always reiterated that he does not plan on staying at Merseyside forever. He might even consider retiring after his Liverpool contract expires in four years’ time.
