Diogo Jota’s injury concerns have been put to rest by Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool’s in-form frontman has scored 8 goals in 15 Premier League starts this season.
He returned from a lengthy layoff to revitalize his scoring form. Fans were worried to see the Portuguese international miss training ahead of Liverpool’s tie against Newcastle United.
“Diogo is fine, Diogo is fine,” said the Liverpool boss.
Klopp added: “Nat Phillips is not back. Curtis Jones is back. All the others not. Do I know when Jordan Henderson is coming back? Not really. Not the next couple of weeks.”
The Reds have an established front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. Diogo Jota is definitely pushing to snatch a starting spot from anyone of the three. When asked if he faces a selection issue, Klopp said, “It was not too often possible, to be honest, because of Diogo’s injury especially I think.
“There are a lot of things. The intensity of the games before, we cannot ignore that, who played most of the games, blah, blah, blah. It is an intense season, so if we can rotate in moments that helps a lot.
“Which formation fits, that’s obviously the main thing, or the best to the opponent we play, and how can we defend, how can we close the spaces they want to use in the best way.
“The front three for us obviously are really important as well. So, these are the things – no others. Like actually with the whole team.”
