Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised James Milner, saying that like fine wine, Milner just gets better with age. Klopp also said that Milner’s performances might lead to an England recall.
Milner put in a pretty good show against Arsenal, scoring Liverpool’s only goal of the match. The goal was Milner’s third of the season and his 50th Premier League goal. The match ended in a draw and Milner was disappointed with the result as he thought Liverpool could have scored more goals.
Klopp said that the experienced Milner is a very good leader to his teammates. He said, “Milly is like wine – a very good red one. I’m not sure if Leeds is famous for wine? He’s getting better. I think Millie should buy all of the newspapers and read this. I would like it if you write a story about James Milner, I will like it. Obviously someone might write that he will have to play for England again. That’s a really nice idea.”
Milner will hope to put on a good show tomorrow when Liverpool take on Red Star Belgrade.
