Jurgen Klopp sends a clear message on Georginio Wijnaldum transfer to Barcelona.

Georginio Wijnaldum has been previously tipped to join his former national team manager Ronald Koeman at Barcelona but the Dutchman intends to stay at Anfield.

The 29-year old has entered the final year of his contract and hopes an offer of a contract extension from the club.

He joined the Reds in 2016 from Newcastle United and since then has featured in 187 games in all competitions and has won the Premier League and Champions League for the club.

But Jurgen Klopp is no fool to let go his most used midfielder in recent years.

Speaking on Tuesday, the Liverpool coach said: “It’s all good with Gini. Absolutely fine about the future as far as we are involved. I can’t speak about a few years, but it’s all good for the moment.

“You know the situation – between me, Gini and the club, everything is fine.

“Since Gini is here I have had 500 or 600 talks with him. Of course, I’ve spoken to him since he came back from international duty. But that’s all.”
