Jurgen Klopp’s agent reveals that the Liverpool boss is not available for the role.

Hansi Flick was relieved of his duties as Germany coach after Saturday’s 4-1 friendly defeat to Japan.

Jurgen Klopp was considered as one of the candidates to take the international managerial role and has been linked on several occasions over the years.

The 56-year-old has led Liverpool every major domestic, European and world honour in the club game.

As Germany is set to host Euro 2024 next summer, they will soon need a replacement for Hansi Flick.

German legend Lothar Matthaus said: “I would only understand that if you got Jurgen Klopp after the European Championship. However, if you wait for Klopp, you would be giving the players another excuse when the coach might only be there until next summer.

“Among the names traded there are some who would not continue the cuddly course, such as Matthias Sammer or Jurgen Klopp. The question is whether Klopp is ready to say goodbye to Liverpool and lead Germany out of the crisis?

But Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has played down the possibility of his client heading the national team.

Kosicke said: “Jurgen has a long-term contract with LFC and is not available for the national coaching position.”
