Jurgen Klopp attempted to sign Martin Odegaard during his time at Dortmund.
Arsenal will be looking to host Liverpool over the weekend and will aim to make it eight wins out of nine games in the Premier League.
Manager Jurgen Klopp reveals that he previously attempted to sign Martin Odegaard at Borussia Dortmund.
But the Norwegian playmaker ended up joining Real Madrid at that time.
Odegaard has been given the captain’s armband this summer at Arsenal and he has scored three goals for the team so far.
Klopp said: “I like him a lot, that’s easy in the moment I think.
“It was a bit more difficult at the start of his career at Madrid, it didn’t look like it would work out.
“I was really disappointed about that because we wanted him at Dortmund, we wanted him as well when he was very young. We had a long talk when he was a kid still, with his dad, in the end he decided for Madrid, that’s fine.”
