Jurgen Klopp to face his second touchline ban of the season.

The Reds manager was shown a yellow card for charging toward fourth official John Brooks while celebrating Liverpool’s last-minute winning goal.

It is well-documented that Liverpool have experienced problems involving Tierney in the past and it was no different over the weekend.

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that referee Paul Tierney has made ‘unacceptable’ remarks to him.

But the refereeing body PGMOL has clarified that Tierney ‘acted in a professional manner throughout’.

“PGMOL is aware of the comments made by Jurgen Klopp after his side’s fixture with Tottenham Hotspur.

“Match officials in the Premier League are recorded in all games via a communications system and having fully reviewed the audio of referee Paul Tierney from today’s fixture, we can confirm he acted in a professional manner throughout including when issuing the caution to the Liverpool manager so, therefore, we strongly refute any suggestion that Tierney’s actions were improper.”

The FA will be investigating the incident and the conversation would likely be made public at the end of any disciplinary case.
