Darwin Nunez, a struggling striker for Liverpool, is not a problem for manager Jurgen Klopp, who revealed he frequently received money from Robert Lewandowski for failing shooting drills when at Borussia Dortmund

Nunez squandered chances in last week’s Carabao Cup loss at Manchester City as well as in the 3-1 victory against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

Klopp feels the Uruguayan international will succeed because he seems to settle well after his sensational club-record signing from Benfica in the summer, scoring seven goals in his final 10 games before the World Cup break.

Lewandowski, whom he helped develop into one of the game’s finest attackers after acquiring him from Lech Poznan for Dortmund in 2010, was used by him as an illustration of how it can take some time for a player to grasp their assignment.

With Arsenal at the top of the standings and Newcastle in third place, a win over Leicester at Anfield would reduce the distance to fourth-placed Tottenham to only two points, but the competition for Champions League spots is currently more tight than ever. Despite his wastefulness at Aston Villa, Darwin Nunez is unstoppable, according to Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool.

Nunez, who cost Benfica £85 million in the summer and has scored nine goals in 20 games, missed two excellent chances in the first half before missing a clear-cut opportunity after the interval. However, Klopp believes that as he adjusts to life at Anfield, he will grow more clinical.
