Jurgen Klopp has said that Xherdan Shaqiri has a future at Liverpool.
The Swiss winger who was signed by Liverpool has been not able to make the first team cut at the club.
He used to be a regular player for the Stoke before but at Liverpool, the player has more competition.
Liverpool have players like Mo Salah and Sadio Mane and Robbie Firmino to play up front. Hence it is not easy for other players to break into the team in the attacking set up.
Even before when he used to play for Bayern Munich, he had the same problem. At Bayern, there were big wingers like Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery and hence Shaqiri could never really break into the first team.
This season, he has been injured for the majority of it and that has probably intensified the rumors that Xherdan wants to leave the club in search of game time elsewhere. Klopp has however, laid rest to those thoughts.
He said, “Why should I talk about something that’s outside? We spoke earlier [in the season] that he wasn’t playing as much as he wanted to.“Speculation is speculation. Completely fine here. Of course, he has a future here.”
