Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given an encouraging update regarding the injury situation of defender Virgil Van Dijk. The Liverpool defender had picked up an injury but will be available to play against his former team Southampton in their next match in the Premier League.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, the German gaffer gave confirmation about the news. He said, “Virgil trained yesterday, he trained normally and I heard nothing different. It all looks OK.”

He added, “He’s so important to us not only as a player but as a person. I couldn’t say a bad word about him even if I wanted! But he knows that you need the boys around you. Defending is teamwork. Yes he has improved us and he has improved since he came here as well.”

Klopp concluded, “He is a different player to when he was at Southampton. Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final help you as a player.”
