Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is hopeful that Jordan Henderson’s ankle injury is not a serious one. Henderson provided the cross from which Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool in today’s match against Chelsea at Anfield.
However, in the 77th minute, Henderson sustained a knock to his ankle and has to be substituted by James Milner.
Speaking of Henderson’s fitness, Klopp said, “He got a knock on his ankle, that’s pretty much all. He was fine after the game. He was fine after the game.
Jordan Henderson has been in pretty good form lately after assuming a more advanced role for Liverpool. Henderson assisted Mohamed Salah’s goal in last week’s win over Southampton before scoring his first of the season. During Liverpool’s Champions League fixture against Porto midweek, Henderson started the move that lead to Roberto Firmino’s goal. And today, he provided the assist for Liverpool’s opening goal as they beat Chelsea 2-0.
Jurgen Klopp would want Henderson to be fit to play their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Porto on Wednesday.
