Jurgen Klopp urges his team to keep the Bournemouth game as a blueprint in the title run-in

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp explains the vibrant performance against Bournemouth should be kept as a blueprint for the rest of this season as the Reds aim to keep themselves ahead in the title race.

The Merseysiders are currently second in the table on goal difference, but have a game in hand. Hence, mathematically, the fate of the title is in their own hands, however, the performance needs to remain as high as possible.

Klopp says that each and every game from now on (even the Champions League games) is like a ‘final.’

Speaking to the club’s official website, the German said: “You see that the intensity always grows and always increases, but we will be prepared. What that means we will see in a specific game.

“I was so happy about the Bournemouth game, and not because of the result, that was important as well, but about the way we played in that game was so important to us because it was only after three weeks a little reminder: ‘Right, that’s how we can play as well.’

“Back in December pretty much we felt each game was the most important game of the season. In a season where you want to be champion, where you want to win the league, each game is like a final.”

After playing Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, Liverpool will play Manchester United in their next league game at Old Trafford.
