Top 5 Goalkeepers Liverpool could sign in January
Top 5 Goalkeepers Liverpool could sign in January? Which goalkeeper could come to Liverpool in 2020? Liverpool January targets?
When looking back at Liverpool’s season so far, it’s kind of hard to pick any major sort of fault when looking at ways to improve the club. In the Premier League, Liverpool are 88 points ahead of second placed Leicester City, and 14 points ahead of the current English champions, Manchester City.
However, despite having one of the best defence and goalkeeper in the world, Leicester City still have the best defence so far with only 10 conceded goals. It is worth mentioning that Alisson was injured for two months and that is when Spanish veteran Adrian stepped up. Moreover, the Reds could always use some more back-up help.
People say it’s hard to improve on greatness, but at least one of these additions would be great for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
5. Jack Butland
Jack Butland will surely be considering his future after Stoke City were relegated to the Championship following a disappointing 2017-18 Premier League campaign. The England international is said to be willing to return to England’s top tier and Liverpool might be able to snatch him on a cut-price deal.
The goalkeeper was said to have admirers in the Premier League who were willing to part with big money to bring him in and bolster their ranks between the posts. A season in the Championship had seemingly turned talk over Butland’s future into overdrive. But the speculation never materialized, the deadline came and went, and he stayed put at the bet365 Stadium.
4. Andriy Lunin
Real Madrid loanee Andriy Lunin has earned a promising reputation during stints at Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Zorya Lunansk. The 19-year-old shot stopper has also won his first cap for the Ukrainian national team.
Lunin is a relative unknown but at 19, the Ukrainian shot stopper would be a long-term option.
3. Jasper Cillessen
Liverpool have already spent a world record £75m fee for a player on Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in the 2018 January transfer window. His compatriot Jasper Cillessen could again be on a move this winter after just moving to Valencia from Barcelona in the summer.
The shot stopper spent six seasons at Ajax before a move to Barcelona in 2016.
2. Gianluigi Donnarumma
Gianluigi Donnarumma is one of Europe’s most promising goalkeepers after breaking into the AC Milan team at the age of 16. The Italy international is thought to be Gianluigi Buffon’s natural successor in the Azzurri team.
Klopp could be the ideal manager to help Donnarumma to blossom into the world’s top goalkeeper.
1. Jan Oblak
Jan Oblak is a goalkeeper in demand throughout Europe following his impressive performances at Atletico Madrid. The Slovenia international played a vital role in Atletico’s rise in form and success the past years.
However, Oblak would command a sizable transfer fee which could prove a sticking point for Liverpool.
