Liverpool have been urged to sign a replacement for goalkeeper Adrian.
After a 7-2 Aston Villa humiliating defeat, it won’t be advisable for Klopp to use Adrian for the next matches.
Tim Sherwood has called Liverpool out for not signing a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window – and now has advised Klopp to get the best Championship goalkeeper.
“I’m surprised they (Liverpool) never went to the market,” he said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show, cited by the Daily Express.
“I’ll be very surprised if they go for Jack Butland because he’s making mistakes playing in the Championship.
“If they were going to go the Championship, I would think they’d go and get the best goalkeeper in the Championship.
“They’re in that market now. I’d go and get a Ben Foster. Someone who’s got that wealth of experience who you know who will go in there where your back four you will think, ‘yeah, we’ve got him behind us, we know’.”
Sherwood isn’t the only one who has asked Klopp to sign a new goalkeeper. Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson has also suggested signing former Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subasic.
Robinson said, “Subasic is an outstanding goalkeeper.
“A top goalkeeper that did brilliantly for Croatia in the World Cup. I am very surprised that he is still a free agent. I thought somebody would have snapped him up by now.
“Adrian is out of form and his confidence looks shot to pieces.
“If Alisson is going to be out for six weeks, Subasic would be an outstanding signing for them.”
