The player has been linked with a move to the Reds

Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen the Liverpool squad this summer in order to compete for silverware in the upcoming season. He has already completed the signings of Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker.

Though they are aware of the need for further reinforcements if his side are to close the gap to remain competitive.

The German coach has been exploring for creative options this summer as he is looking to find a replacement for Philippe Coutinho who left them for Barcelona this summer. Though the club fared well without him as they reached the Champions League final.

The Reds were heavily linked with a move for Lyon star Nabil Fekir and were very close to securing him. But the deal collapsed at the last moment as some medical issues of the player came up during his medical.

The English Club were also linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s rising star Christian Pulisic. Klopp has been an long admirer of him and there were speculations that he could raid his former club.

The 19 year old was signed by the German side back in 2015 and was assigned to their youth team. He made his senior debut during the 2016/2017 campaign and since then he has been a mainstay in the midfield of the team

The winger was one of the standout players last season, scoring 5 goals and assisting 7 in 42 games across all the competitions. He has already been described as the most technically gifted player ever produced by the United States of America.

ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop believes that Liverpool would be the easiest fit for Pulisic. He claims the BVB connection with the coach would make the Premiere League giants the obvious destination for for the highly rated youngster.

“He fits in anywhere,” Hislop said as quoted by Daily Star.

“I think talents like his fit in everywhere. I think the easiest fit would be Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

“Given Klopp’s own history with Dortmund, his style, which Dortmund still mirrors in many regards and it becomes an easy fit.

“But even that I don’t think sways my decision, or should sway his decision, one way or the other.

“When you’ve got a player as talented as Christian Pulisic is, when you’ve got a player who has shown the quality, the leadership, that can get around the park, it fits.

“You can slot him into any big team and as much as the focus and the rumours continue to be about Premier League clubs, I think you can put him in almost any club and he finds a spot.

“If it were me, my club, and I’m building a team, and I can get Pulisic at a decent price, I take him.”
