According to reports, Liverpool have made a bid of £45 million to sign young Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic. The 20-year old has become one of the most sought-after footballers lately thanks to his performances for Dortmund.
This season, Pulisic has made 18 appearances for The BVB, scoring thrice and registering 4 assists.
Liverpool aren’t the only team interested in signing the youngster. Arsenal have also reportedly made a bid of £35 million for Pulisic. However, this may not be enough to sign the 20-year old.
There have been several reports linking Pulisic to the Premier League with the American himself stating that he would like to play in England. Earlier, it seemed like Chelsea were the frontrunner to sign him. However, now it seems that Liverpool have a strong chance of signing him.
Pulisic’s current contract ends in the summer of 2020 and he hasn’t signed an extension yet. His appearances may also become limited with the emergence of Jadon Sancho. However, a move to Liverpool won’t guarantee him much playing time either. He’ll have to fight for a place in the starting XI against Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Nevertheless, the addition of Pulisic will certainly bolster Liverpool’s already strong squad.
