Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders believes Thiago will help Liverpool stay unpredictable.

Thiago Alcantara’s move to Anfield is probably one of the biggest transfers of this summer window.

He broke the Premier League record against Chelsea in just 45 minutes on his debut and recorded more than 75 passes any player has done in that time frame.

Thiago possesses a power to bamboozle the opposition and his skill to unlock defences with a single pass, makes him ideal for Liverpool’s needs.

“[Thiago] will make sure that the team will evolve and make the next step,” Lijnders said at a press conference.

“Overall, it’s important for the team to stay unpredictable, that from each position we can play the last pass and we can speed up as much as possible in the small passes.”

“We brought a solution for the upcoming problems hopefully.”

Adding of Jota, he said: “Diogo, his technical level is the same as our front three.

“He is like a pressing monster and he will fit in. He has the future in his feet.”

Liverpool faces League One side Lincoln for the third-round of the EFL Cup.
