Lackluster loan spell raises doubts about Carvalho’s Liverpool career

Following a disappointing loan spell at RB Leipzig, Liverpool is supposedly considering Fabio Carvalho’s future. The 21-year-old, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022, failed to make an impact in Germany, raising questions about his future with the club.

Carvalho’s problems follow a poor initial season at Anfield, in which he appeared in only 22 games, mostly as a substitute.

With the strong competition in Liverpool’s midfield and Carvalho’s struggle to earn a regular role at Leipzig, rumours say that when he returns to Liverpool, he may have to reconsider his options.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth suggested that Carvalho adapt his expectations if he finds elite-level football hard.

“He is a young player though and he’s come from the Championship effectively when he moved from Fulham.

So it’s a difficult situation that he’s in just now, but of course, the lack of game time that he’s getting with RB Leipzig hasn’t helped him for his development and also trying to knock on the door for Klopp as he can point to look what I’m doing at RB Leipzig. And crucially, I think as well, it just feels like Liverpool are moving on as well.”

The disappointing loan stint raises doubts about Carvalho’s future at Liverpool, adding uncertainty to a career that began with promise but has hit obstacles in recent times.
