Liverpool's interest in Aurelien Tchouameni kicked Real Madrid into action

According to Fichajes, Liverpool is preparing a daring raid to capture Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni in the summer. Martin Zubimendi was the top player on the Reds’ wishlist during the summer, but a deal fell through, and the Spaniard decided to stay with Real Sociedad. Tchouaméni of Madrid has been flagged by Liverpool as a potential target while they search for other options.

It is not ruled out that the 24-year-old will leave next summer, as Fichajes claims he hasn’t shown much since arriving in the Spanish city. As they look to bolster their midfield, Liverpool has become one of the teams “most interested” in obtaining the Frenchman back. Tchouaméni is a good player who will have to fight for playing time with the first team in a competitive Madrid midfield; therefore, several teams are vying to sign him. Given that Tchouaméni possesses the exact attributes Liverpool is seeking, Liverpool in particular are keeping a close eye on his circumstances.

Liverpool could finally land £67m gem they wanted to sign in 2022

According to the article, Liverpool is reportedly willing to make a significant financial commitment to get the Frenchman to Anfield, and they are still keeping a “keen eye” on his circumstances. Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who turned down the opportunity to sign with Liverpool last month, could make for an interesting supporting character.

In the early stages of the season, Ryan Gravenberch is playing so flawlessly in that capacity under Arne Slot that Liverpool has to question if they really need to invest more than £65 million on a defensive midfielder. As of right now, we don’t see the Reds making a formal bid for Tchouameni in 2025, yet we won’t rule out the possibility just yet.
