The German striker could move to England soon.
But that is just on paper.
Liverpool could send Timo Werner back to RB Leipzig on loan if they sign him this summer, according to reports in Germany. Werner has long been linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s side, but he is also being targeted by a number of the top teams in Europe, including Manchester United and Barcelona.
After he helped RB Leipzig to a win over Spurs at the end of February he hinted that he was keen to move to Anfield, with his reported release clause set at €60 million. The Germany international has scored 27 goals in 35 matches in all competitions this season with his goals helping Leipzig challenge for the Bundesliga title.
And German publication Bild now claims, Liverpool have a “new plan” as they look to bring Werner to Merseyside. The report adds that it is “conceivable” that Liverpool will sign Werner in the summer transfer window and then loan him back at Leipzig next season.
