Liverpool Could Win Over 19 Y/O Scoring Machine In January

According to the Express, Liverpool have received a huge boost in their chase for Erling Haaland.

The striker plies his trade for Red Bull Salzburg and is currently in the middle of his breakout season as a 19-year-old.

He is currently leading the Champions League scoring charts with 6 scored in the first 3 games, outscoring the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Salzburg has a very young core of talented players and the one leading it from the front is Haaland. Juventus, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be interested in the teenager and the Austrian outfit could be convinced into selling.

Express supposedly sources their claim to former Norway international, Erik Thorstvedt who said, “There may be someone who will take a chance in January to move in first. And then let him play at Salzburg for the rest of the season.

“Salzburg are a selling club and they will sell when they will get the most money. If it is next summer that they will get the most money for him, they will sell then.”

Liverpool might be in the market for a striker since there isn’t an outright backup for Roberto Firmino, other than the young Rhian Brewster. Jurgen Klopp tried to give Dominik Solanke a run at the second-string spot but that experiment eventually failed.
