Liverpool are lining up a summer move for highly-rated Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg, widely regarded as one of England’s brightest young talents.

Rigg has been a key figure for Sunderland this season, making 38 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing one assist.
His influence goes beyond the stats — his composure, vision, and tactical intelligence have earned him plaudits, even among seasoned professionals.
He also contributed to eight goal-creating actions while clocking over 2,800 minutes on the pitch, helping the Black Cats finish in the Championship’s top six and secure a spot in the playoffs.
However, Sunderland are expected to resist any attempts to prise him away easily, especially if they win promotion to the Premier League.
Rigg is under contract until June 2027, and any deal is likely to exceed £30 million — a significant investment for a teenager, but one Liverpool may be willing to make.
