Liverpool FC players photos, pictures and squad information 2018/19
Alisson is Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper this season. He joined the club from Roma on a transfer fee of £66.8 million that made him the most expensive goalkeeper at the time. So far, Alisson has done pretty well for Liverpool. He has made 44 appearances and has made 22 clean sheets across all competitions. He has already made 18 clean sheets in the Premier League which is the most number of clean sheets in the Premier League this season.
Simon Mignolet is Liverpool’s second choice keeper this season. He has made only two appearances for the club this season in a League Cup game against Chelsea and an FA Cup match against Wolves. On both occasions, Liverpool lost 2-1.
20-year old Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is Liverpool’s third-choice keeper this season and is yet to make an appearance for the club.

Virgil van Dijk is Liverpool’s defensive mainstay. The Dutchman has been in terrific form for the Reds this season. His presence at the back has made life miserable for the opposition attackers and his ball distribution has been influential in initiating attacks and setting up goals. In 45 appearances so far, van Dijk has scored 5 goals and has provided 4 assists.
The likes of Joel Matip, Jope Gomez and Dejan Lovren have been van Dijk’s partners in central defence throughout the season. Gomez was van Dijk’s partner at the start due to injuries to Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren. However, an injury to Gomez saw Joel Matip being van Dijk’s partner in central defence. Matip is still pretty much Jurgen Klopp’s preferred partner for van Dijk.
Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are Liverpool’s first-choice full-backs this season. The duo’s presence on the flanks have often provided the attackers with goals. Robertson and Alexander-Arnold have 24 assists amongst them. Left-back Robertson has provided 13 while right-back Alexander-Arnold has provided 11.
Alberto Moreno is Liverpool’s backup left-back and has made four appearances this season. Dutchman Ki-Jana Hoever has made sporadic appearances for Liverpool this season at right-back.
There’s plenty of competition in Liverpool’s midfield and the competition’s always between James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita. All of these players have made more than 20 appearances this season and have scored.
Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri are Liverpool’s backups and have made mainly substitute appearances for the club this season. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain missed most of the season due to an injury he sustained last season in a Champions League semi-final match against AS Roma. However, he made his first appearance of the season against Huddersfield Town.
Curtis Jones, Ben Woodburn and Rafal Camacho are other backups Liverpool have in the midfield department.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are Liverpool’s first-choice. The trio are considered to be one of the most lethal attacks in the world. They scored 91 of Liverpool’s 132 goals last season and guided the club to the Champions League final.
This season, the trio have done pretty well for Liverpool, scoring 67 of the club’s 101 goals. Salah has been Liverpool’s top scorer this season with 25 goals while Sadio Mane is just behind him with 24 goals. Salah and Mane are both Premier League’s top two scorers this season, scoring 21 and 20 goals respectively so far. Roberto Firmino has netted 16 goals for the Reds so far.
Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are Liverpool’s backup forwards and have made substiute appearances so far while also starting occasionally.
Rhian Brewster is another backup forward for Liverpool but hasn’t made any appearances so far.
