Jurgen Klopp has insisted Roberto Firmino could be fit in time to face Watford in the midweek.

Firmino hobbled off from the pitch following a knock in the ankle in the goalless draw with Manchester United at the Old Trafford. The Reds lost a golden chance to build on a healthy lead at the top and will now face Watford to continue their title charge.

The Brazilian forward was visibly uncomfortable and it was feared he could be forced to spend a lengthy spell n the sidelines. But in a major boost, Klopp has confirmed the injury is not serious and the player could face the Hornets.

“It looks good. We were obviously lucky.

“It was not as serious as we thought at first.

“If Bobby goes down and leaves the pitch it is always a bad sign because he is a pretty hard boy.

“Because we play tomorrow, it will be very close for that, but he has a big chance for the derby.”

“Because it is Bobby I would say yes, but I don’t know if I would use that chance.

“Writing him off is a big mistake because he recovers pretty quickly.
