David Hancko’s agent has confirmed Liverpool’s approach.

The Reds are in the market for a few defensive reinforcements, even though Liverpool boasts the best defence in the Premier League.

The current squad is short of options in the left-back department both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are out with their respective injuries.

Defender Joel Matip will also miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury and is in the final months of his Liverpool contract.

Liverpool have identified Feyenoord centre-back David Hancko as their next big target who has been a mainstay at the Dutch club.

The Slovakian international is valued at £38.6 million and is contracted to Feyenoord until 2028.

The left-sided defender could be an instant hit at Liverpool and it will be interesting to see if the Slovakian moves to Anfield this summer.

“As an agency, we are in contact not only with these two clubs (Liverpool and PSG), but also with others who are looking into David’s situation,” Hancko’s agent Branislav Jasurek said.

“I estimate that 80-90 percent David will stay in Rotterdam, because Feyenoord is fighting for the Champions League and the people at Feyenoord know that David Hancko will be sold even in the summer and maybe better than now.”
