Thiago Alcantara have been linked with Liverpool for most of the summer.
Bayern boss Hansi Flick is hoping to have Thiago Alcantara available for the start of the new season.
Bayern made it very clear that they want to sell the 29-year old and Liverpool turned up to be the frontrunners to sign the Spaniard.
Thiago is entering the last year of his contract and is available for £27million.
According to reports, Liverpool are unwilling to meet the asking price for the midfielder.
Flick says he is planning with both Thiago and David Alaba, who also faces an uncertain future in Munich.
“The situation is not that easy,” he said.
“As long as they are in the squad, I plan with both of them.”
Reds legend Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool will sooner or later sanction a deal to sign Thiago Alcantara.
“The only worry that might put Liverpool off is Thiago’s age – but I think the signing will still happen,” he told The Mirror.
“Liverpool have a few players in the squad around 28 or 29 and that’s why the deal will have to be on their terms – maybe nearer £20m.
“What Thiago does is add something different to what Liverpool have in midfield.
“The midfielders all do a brilliant job but are quite similar. It would be nice to have someone who can control the game more. It would be nice if they had a bit extra technically.
“I think a move will probably happen towards the end of the window.”
