Mason Mount mainly functions as an attacking midfielder.
According to a fresh interview on Caughtoffside, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool are in pole position to land Chelsea talent Mason Mount.
“Despite reported interest from Arsenal in Mason Mount, Liverpool remain the favourites for the Chelsea midfielder as they consider Mount one of the priorities,” Romano said.
“But it all depends on Chelsea new deal negotiations and also the Chelsea manager situation. I think it’s not about Champions League football, it’s about the project; the real timing for Mount decision will be May/June, not now for sure.”
The 24-year-old is having a tough campaign at Stamford Bridge as he has struggled to prove his worth as a consistent performer over the past eight months.
The Chelsea man mainly functions as an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if needed.
