BILD magazine reports that Borussia Dortmund is open to selling Gio Reyna.
The German outfit might be forced to sell their best assets if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Jadon Sancho, Reyna and Raphael Guerreiro are said to be on the market for interested bidders. Liverpool already rate them highly but have their sights set on Reyna particularly. The American wonderkid burst into the scene last season under Lucien Favre.
He impressed so much that he managed to overtake Julian Brandt in the BVB starting line up. This season he has 10 goal contributions in 26 appearances across all competitions. At just 18, he is already close to 50 senior caps and is gunning for a spot in the USA men’s national team.
Dortmund particularly are hesitant on selling Erling Haaland. With the €30m they are set to lose out on if they fail to get a Champions League spot, players will be a must. They were already ready to let Jadon Sancho leave for Manchester United for the right price.
He alone could steady the club’s financial scales by bringing in over €100m from his sale. Liverpool will also need to bid heavy for Reyna but nowhere close to Sancho’s valuation. The teenager could be their ultimate successor for Philippe Coutinho, whose position is still pretty much left wide open at Anfield.
