Liverpool confirm Arne Slot appointment as new head coach

According to reports, Liverpool is almost done with a deal to buy a young center-back from one of their Premier League opponents. The claim was made by the Secret Scout on X, formerly Twitter, and the Merseyside’s could be required to pay up to £1.5 million in compensation.

Alvin Ayman, who is only 16 years old, has already made two appearances in the Premier League 2 for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Under-21 team during the 2023–24 season. The adolescent player was used as a defensive midfielder in Wolves’ 4-2 Under-18 Premier League victory against Liverpool in April, but he is equally at ease at centre back. Ayman only moved to Wolves from Bradford City in the summer, but The Secret Scout claims that the Englishman will be leaving the West Midlands team in less than a year to join Liverpool.

Liverpool could pay up to £1.5m for Alvin Ayman

Even though Ayman did not play for Wolves’ senior side or even make Gary O’Neil’s starting lineup in the previous campaign, it is thought that he travelled with the team for their May 5-1 loss to Manchester City. If a deal materializes, Wolves would be entitled to compensation from Liverpool; additionally, the Merseyside giants may have to pay up to £1.5 million to sign the 16-year-old.

Rather than quickly pressuring his way into Arne Slot’s first team, Ayman will likely join the Reds’ academy team, but the adolescent will appear to have an easy route to the senior ranks.
