Liverpool have entered the race for in-demand Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes.
The Sporting Lisbon ace is already on Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Manchester City’s shortlists for the summer and has a release clause worth around €100m.
Pep Guardiola’s side might be slightly more interested in Atletico Madrid’s Rodri but the Red Devils are eager to close a deal for Fernandes right after the UEFA Nations League.
The 24-year-old’s agent, Miguel Pinho will reportedly travel to London this week and meet with several clubs over a potential transfer. Lisbon are ready to sell the midfielder and would accept a bid in the region of £71m.
Fernandes stood out this past season after collecting 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 games. He was present for his country’s semi-final game against Switzerland this week in the Nations League, helping Portugal to the final after a 3-1 victory.
Liverpool are now on the offensive after winning the Champions League last term. Jurgen Klopp wants to make further improvements despite claiming that no big names will be entering Anfield this summer.
He has set his sights on Ajax defender, Matthijs De Ligt and is even looking for a replacement for the ageing James Milner.
