Jadon Sancho: Liverpool latest transfer news 2020

The Borussia Dortmund winger is a hot property in Europe. He was formerly of Manchester City which will make this move all the more sweeter for Liverpool.

However, he is going to cost big money. Clubs like Barcelona, United, Chelsea are all also after him. Liverpool has been urged by many pundits to sign him to complete the team on their way to further world domination.

It all depends now if Klopp wants to spend the money. Another factor now that it also depends on is the fact that Sancho is closing in on a deal to Manchester United so Liverpool will have to act fast.

Timo Werner: Liverpool latest transfer news 2020

Liverpool do not have any backup for their lethal front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. That has been the problem all along which is why RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is their top target for the summer.

There are rumours of a release clause worth £50m which needs to be activated before April. However, that would been a far too good a deal for any other rival outfit to not pick up. Werner is enjoying an outstanding season, scoring 27 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. The German can play out from the flanks as well as from centre-forward.

Chelsea will be their competition but Liverpool seems like the favorites.

Liverpool FC latest transfer news 2020

Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg for £7.5 million

Liverpool paid the midfielder’s release clause to get him from Red Bull Salzburg. The 24-year-old caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye during the Champions League group stage tie. Minamino absolutely devastated the Reds backline during a 4-3 showdown at Anfield. His trickery on the ball and energy going forward, earned him a switch to Merseyside.

Sepp Van den Berg from FC Zwolle for €1.90 million

He is Liverpool’s one of two confirmed signings this season. The young defender is only a teenager who is not even 18 yet. Liverpool have got him for cheap and Klopp will want to develop him into a star for tomorrow as he has done for so many stars in Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool before. Remember the likes of Lewandoswski at Dortmund and Trent-Arnold at Liverpool? Yes, trust it to Klopp to be the best manager possible to a young talent.

Harvey Elliott from Fulham for undisclosed fee

Another youngster who last season became the youngest ever player to play in the English Premier League for Fulham. With the side from Craven Cottage now relegated, Fulham have sold their young promising star to the Reds and in Liverpool, Harvey will find a great mentor in Klopp who will know how to develop the youngster and fulfill his promises of becoming a star player. Good luck Jurgen!

Liverpool latest transfer news 2020: Departures

Danny Ings to Southampton for €22.20 million

He was signed by Liverpool a few seasons back. He comes from a promising family of footballers and himself showed signs of achieving those standards. Liverpool went in for him but unfortunately the move never worked out.

Whether it be unfortunate injuries, lack of form in front of goal or Liverpool having three world class forwards already, Ings never quite settled at Anfield.

He was subsequently moved around on loan to multiple clubs but failed to impact until he joined Southampton on loan last season. Over there, he has hit form of some sorts and now the Saints, who have sold multiple star of their own to Liverpool over the years, have come for a new bit of business with the tables turned.

If they thought Liverpool were going to be kind to them on the money aspect of the deal due to their history, however, they were wildly mistaken. The Reds squeezed out a healthy €22.20 million for an average player who has failed at a big club!

Alberto Moreno to Villareal on loan

Moreno was one of Klopp’s early players and Klopp did use him time and time again until of course Robertson broke through the ranks. Moreno is fast and agile, however, lacks a certain aspect of discipline in him in terms of defending or tactical play. The skilful fullback plays to his whims and fancies and often ends up misreading situations.

He has been benched for well over a year now with a feud breaking out over the manager and the player pretty quickly. Moreono claimed Klopp showed a lack of class and respect because he was always there for the manager at great personal cost to his family but Klopp refused to do the same for the player once the German felt Moreno was surplus to requirements.

“I didn’t feel [the decision to stick with Robertson] well, I was injured giving my best for our team,” Moreno had told Spanish media outlet Ondacero.

“I disliked Klopp’s decision because I was training but when I returned he only wanted Robertson.”

“My relationship with Klopp hasn’t changed but since this injury, I didn’t have a meeting with him but our relationship is normal.

“I disliked the way that Klopp has treated me but I understand his situation that he can’t change [Robertson] because the team is winning.”

Klopp also did not hold back from bashing the player but now all feud has ended with the player leaving the club for free. Maybe Liverpool could have squeezed out a few million quids out of a talented player but Klopp’s treatment and harsh behaviour surely cost them that. Not that they will miss him though!

Marko Grujic to Hertha BSC on loan for €2.00 million

The young midfielder who was signed was recognized to be a lad with a lot of potential. He is fast, can see the ball quick, make a smart pass – long and short, can tackle crunchily and has the pace and physical strength to succeed in the English league. However, despite all these traits, he has failed to make an impact at Liverpool. To be fair to him, he has also not been given a host of chances like the players like Karius and Lovren but Grujic has had to face the harsh reality of loan moves to different clubs which never makes it easy for an individual to succeed. He has now once again been loaned out and is currently serving his spell with Hertha BSC, the Bundesliga side where he will be hoping he hits form and can either make his way back to the Liverpool team or secure a permanent move to a club where he is valued more for his talents.
