Liverpool legend on the club's recent transfer business

Jamie Carragher tells why Klopp hasn’t signed a midfielder yet.

The Reds have signed three players this summer window in the name of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

Jurgen Klopp will be without Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago for their maiden home game this week.

Thiago Alcantara suffered a hamstring injury in his last game against Fulham and is expected to be out for a month at least.

Many supporters have urged the manager to strengthen the midfield this summer but club legend Jamie Carragher doesn’t believe that the team needs one.

He told Sky Sports: “I think most people would say Liverpool’s midfield can be strengthened in terms of quality. Liverpool don’t panic and they can’t do that now. If the player they want is not available, don’t get him. Don’t panic.

“Look at how long they waited for (Virgil) van Dijk. It’s proved very successful and I am sure they will do that with the midfield as well.”
