Liverpool will reportedly be forced to cough up £49m-£57m for the services of Darwin Nunez in the summer
Liverpool are allegedly interested in Benfica striker Darwin Nunez and want to make a summer deal for him.
According to sources, if contract talks with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane fail, the Reds may attempt to sign Nunez. The contracts of all three Liverpool attackers will expire in the summer of 2023.
Expiring contracts for the club’s legendary front line of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Bobby Firmino will motivate the team to look for new players.
The Reds are thought to be in negotiations with the Egyptian international about new conditions, though there has yet to be a significant progress in such talks.
It is unknown whether supporters will be able to see our No.11 in the famed red shirt beyond the summer of 2023.
The reasons for both sides have been exhaustively examined, however it would appear to many supporters to be absolute folly to accept a future without the former Roma striker given his potential longevity at the top level of the game.
With 25 goals in all competitions – only two short of Salah’s total of 27 so far – it’s likely that the recruiting may believe that an acquisition of Nunez’s calibre may replace the Egyptian’s goals in the long term.
Nunez has been in excellent form for Benfica this season, scoring 18 goals and assisting twice in 19 league appearances.
His physique has apparently piqued the curiosity of Europe’s finest. The Merseysiders may have to compete with Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea for the attacker.
