Asensio’s contract will expire in June 2023 with Real Madrid.

Liverpool could make a 2022 move for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio. The Mallorcan born star is facing a crossroads in Spain since his arrival from injury this summer. Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti insisted on a key role for the Spain international. The 25-year-old winger has made just two La Liga starts so far in the current season.

According to the reports of the Daily Mirror, Ancelotti and Asensio have suffered a relationship breakdown and the Spain international could now move on. The Mallorcan born star scored a hat trick in Real Madrid’s 6-1 win over Real Mallorca last month.

The Reds have previously been linked with the 25-year-old winger and his contract will expire in June 2023. The Premier League giants are planning to wait until next summer to make a move for Los Blancos. Liverpool have to pay an expected fee of around £25m to sign Marco Asensio.
