According to El Nacional, Liverpool is planning to sign Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes prior to the 2019–20 season, and they are prepared to use Trent Alexander-Arnold as a negotiating chip. Rodrygo’s future in the Spanish capital is now in doubt due to Kylian Mbappe’s arrival, and the Whites are not ruling out the attacker leaving the team if he makes a proactive request to do so.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold is possibly the most well-known addition Real Madrid may make to take Carvajal’s position. The Englishman became a club hero at Liverpool after rising through the ranks. Trent’s present contract expires in the summer of 2025, though. Surprisingly, there have reportedly not been any discussions for an extension undertaken thus far.

Alexander-Arnold wants to leave Liverpool as Real Madrid swap deal opens up

According to sources, Trent Alexander-Arnold is ready to push for a dramatic summertime departure from Liverpool and might make a big trade deal to join Real Madrid. Defensa Central has stated that Liverpool has considered trading Trent for Rodrygo. Although a deal would be complicated, Real Madrid would be interested in the 25-year-old right-back. The Premier League team is also expected to be looking for a successor for Mohamed Salah.

Born and raised in Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold went through the academy before making his senior debut in October of 2016. Under Jurgen Klopp, the right-back has since developed into a world-class player and contributed significantly to Liverpool’s victories in the FA Cup, Champions League, and Premier League.
