Liverpool’s chances of completing a transfer for Patrick Dorgu of Lecce have taken a hit. The Danish star was reportedly being pursued by the Merseysiders in addition to a number of Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Tottenham. The left-sided football player has eight appearances across all competitions, playing four different positions, making him a very versatile choice on the market.

A great future is ahead of the highly regarded 19-year-old Italian football player. If given the proper coaching, he could become a very good player, and Liverpool could use someone with his skill set. It appears that Dorgu would be the best long-term replacement for Robertson, which Liverpool will soon need to do. If Liverpool decides to pursue him in the upcoming months is still to be determined.

Patrick Dorgu has signed a new contract at Lecce

Patrick Dorgu, to his immense credit, has not been fazed by speculation linking him with a transfer exit. As such, it’s far from surprising to hear that the teenager has committed his future to the Serie outfit, as per a report from Fabrizio Romano on X this afternoon. The Danish international’s current terms have now extended to the summer of 2029 in a clear blow for his Premier League suitors.

If the footballer was valued at £33.3m in the prior summer window, we would surmise that his asking price is only likely to exponentially increase ahead of the transfer windows to come. From Liverpool’s perspective, at least, it’s a conundrum they may choose to investigate and invest in themselves should Mo Salah not opt to extend his contract at the club.
