Liverpool set to intensify efforts in pursuit of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa

Arne Slot’s Gleison Bremer, a centre defender for Juventus, has received an offer from Liverpool valued at approximately €60 million. Liverpool is aiming to bolster their defense this summer, and Gleison Bremer of Juventus is their main target, according to a report from The Standard via Fichajes. In an attempt to win the competition for his services, the Reds have already made an offer of almost €60 million.

Prior to signing a contract worth over €45 million to join the Old Lady, Bremer established himself at Torino. For the past two seasons, he has been a dependable backup for the Italian powerhouses. In 40 games during the 2023–24 season, the Brazilian international appeared and scored three goals.

Bremer could be Liverpool’s potential new centre-back

Italian reporter Mirko Di Natale claims that Liverpool has suddenly become more interested in the Juventus centre back. “Chelsea and Manchester United continue to monitor Gleison Bremer, but in recent weeks, Liverpool and Bayern have also informed themselves,” stated Di Natale on his X account. Bremer might revolutionise Liverpool’s defence if they can work out a deal that fits their budget.

Bremer was once Liverpool’s top target. He joined Juventus from Torino in 2022. The majority of Liverpool supporters concur that finding a new centre defender should be a top priority because Joel Matip is departing the team and Sepp van den Berg’s future is unclear. The need to sign Bremer is even greater because the Reds haven’t added a defender since signing Ibrahima Konate in 2021.
