Sources reveal that at least eight Premier League teams—including Sunderland, Newcastle United, West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton, Leeds United, Burnley, and Bournemouth—have been notified of Liverpool’s valuation and are monitoring the situation.
Gomez, who has been at Liverpool since 2015 and won multiple trophies including two Premier League titles and a Champions League, has struggled for consistent game time due to injuries.
He made just 17 total appearances (874 minutes) during 2024–25, missing chunks of the season after setbacks in December and February.
With 13 career injuries and a significant one last season, durability remains a concern.
Despite his fitness issues, Gomez’s blend of Premier League experience and defensive versatility—capable of playing centre-back or right-back—makes him an appealing option.
Newly promoted Sunderland could benefit from his leadership alongside their youthful core, while Newcastle and West Ham might view him as a reliable reinforcement for their backlines.
