Salah’s contract will expire next summer and he may leave the club as free agent.
Liverpool are aware of the current situation going around Mo Salah who made claims that it could be his last season at Anfield. The Reds are planning to open discussions with the Egypt international over his future.
Salah is currently the biggest star of the Premier League and the leading goal-scorer for Liverpool in top-flight history. He made a move to the Merseyside club in the summer of 2017 from Roma and the rest is the history now.
The 32-year-old has scored 214 goals and provided 92 assists in 352 appearances. He also played a crucial role once again last weekend against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Salah has scored at least 20 goals in each season he has spent at Anfield. He has three assists and three goals in the first three games of this season.
The Reds will start open discussion with Salah due to his statement over the future that this would be his “last season” at the club, adding that “nobody has talked to him” about a new deal.
As per Football Insider, Liverpool are set to open talks with the club within the next few weeks. He was linked with Saudi clubs in last one year and Liverpool got an offer last summer. However, Liverpool rejected the offer. Salah’s contract will expire next summer and he may leave the club as free agent.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and club captain Virgil van Dijk are also in the final 12 months of their contracts. It would be a tough situation if the trip left the club next summer.
