According to the latest reports, Liverpool are aiming to get their hands on Ousmane Dembele for €90m.
Jurgen Klopp reportedly fell “in love” with the Frenchman’s game during his one-year stint at Borussia Dortmund.
Of course, Dembele has slid down the glamour ladder due to his constant battle with injuries. He has not been able to play over a period of six months since his £119m move to Barcelona in 2018. Now, the 22-year-old could be up for sale, after yer another underwhelming season.
Klopp has recognized Dembele as an ideal fit into his system. He could boost the Liverpool attack from different positions. As you know, Dembele prefers to play out wide but his creativity and close control can allow him to flourish in a more central role as well. The Frenchman took over the reigns in attacking midfield for Dortmund several times, even putting in a noteworthy performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
He is equally strong with both his feet which also allows him to play from either flanks. The only concern about the player is his attitude and personal lifestyle. There have been several complaints within the Barcelona management regarding his habits. Dembele even needed to be disciplined by the La Liga outfit over certain incidents.
If he can overcome his injury concerns and unprofessional slip-ups every now and then, this move could end up being really lucrative for Liverpool.
