Liverpool push to renew Mo Salah's contract following the Africa Cup of Nations

Liverpool are set to hold talks over a new contract when Salah returns from the AFCON.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to extend the contract of Mo Salah after the Africa Cup of Nations. The Reds want to keep Salah at Anfield at the end of the season. Salah is a vital player and his contract will expire in 18 months.

Mo Salah is heavily linked with Saudi Pro League clubs. Big Saudi clubs are putting in some big offers for the Egyptian winger. He is likely to leave the club in the upcoming summer.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside club will not take any offer for Salah. They want him to sign a new contract. As per the fresh report, the 31-year-old was open to extending his stay despite being earmarked as a target for Saudi clubs.

As per the reports of the Athletic, the Reds are set to hold talks over a new contract when Salah returns from the AFCON which is being held in Ivory Coast.

The Egypt international has scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in 27 appearances this season. He has provided 204 goals in 332 matches since joining the club from Roma in the summer of 2017.

Liverpool are also planning to extend contracts for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk. Both will be a free agent in the summer of 2025.
