Liverpool Ready To Bid €60m Plus A Player For Kalidou Koulibaly

Italian news sources claim that Liverpool are still interested in Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to Napoli Magazine, the Reds are willing to pay €60 million-plus a player in exchange for the 29-year-old centre-back.

There have been talks of Dejan Lovren possibly leaving Liverpool this summer and that could leave the centre-back short-staffed. Jurgen Klopp already has a top lineup of defenders in Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip but Koulibaly could be a step up. Incredibly experienced and regarded as one of the best in Italy, Koulibaly could pair up with van Dijk to properly solidify the Reds backline.

He was formerly pursued by Liverpool and a host of other Premier League outfits. Napoli always turned down offers, claiming to only accept anything nearer to the €100m mark. In the current market scenario, paying that amount of cash would be next to impossible. Which is why Liverpool are ready to put Divock Origi on offer.

The Belgian has done incredibly well as a backup forward but he could demand more playing time in the future. Napoli seem like an ideal destination, given how they are about to lose Dries Mertens and Milik has clearly not made the grade. Koulibaly can offer a few more years of elite defensive performances which could help Liverpool fight better for major honours.
