Liverpool are prepared to match Watford’s £40m asking price for Ismaila Sarr.

The 22-year old is said to be one of Klopp’s top transfer target this summer as the Reds coach is looking to reinforce his bench.

Liverpool needs backup for their menacing front-three and Sarr seems to be cut out for the role as he can play on either wing or as a centre-forward.

Championship side Watford are demanding £40m for their star wingers who scored six goals for the club last season.

According to Sun, Liverpool are prepared to meet that demand.

The Sun also claimed that if Sarr were to join Anfield this summer, Liverpool would consider selling Rhian Brewster instead of loaning him out.

Sarr joined the Hornets for a fee of around £30m from Rennes last August and would be looking for an exit following their relegation from the Premier League.

Sarr recently expressed his admiration for the Reds in an interview with Les Echos, “Liverpool are a really great team – everyone would love to play there.

“They won the Premier League this year and the Champions League last year.

“But also there are great teams in the English league.

“Frankly, I have yet to make a choice. If that were to happen, I just wish they were a good team. At the moment, there are only guesses.”
