Liverpool rejects initial offer for Sepp van den Berg from PSV

Sepp van den Berg is not part of Arne Slot’s plans ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Liverpool have rejected an initial offer for Sepp van den Berg from PSV Eindhoven. The centre-back made the permanent switch to Liverpool from Eredivisie outfit PEC Zwolle ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The 22-year-old failed to deliver under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield due to players like Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip in the pecking order. He had loan stints to play regular football.

Last season, he had a loan stint at Mainz 05 and played 35 times in the Bundesliga. There are some reports that Van den Berg could be handed a way out of Anfield on a permanent deal.

It is added that Eredivisie giants PSV are keen on Sepp van den Berg. The 22-year-old is not part of Arne Slot’s plans ahead of the 2024-25 season.

As per transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, PSV have submitted a formal offer worth around €10m for the defender. The report adds that the Reds rejected this advance as PSV failed to reach Liverpool’s asking price for the player.
