The Reds believe they can can complete the deal

Liverpool had a pretty decent campaign last season despite losing the Champions League final against Real Madrid. Jurgen Klopp is keen to make new signings this summer in order to strengthen the squad for next season.

Club’s Chairman Tom Werner assured that the manager will be given transfer funds to add reinforcements in the transfer window.

The Reds have already completed the signing of Fabinho from Monaco and RB Leipzig’s midfielder Naby Keita. But the club are not planning to stop there and are looking to make more signings to reinforce key areas.

Former BVB coach has prioritized signing a creative midfielder as he is looking for a replacement of Philippe Coutinho. He prioritized the signing of Lyon star Nabil Fekir, who had an excellent campaign last season and was selected in the World Cup squad.

The 24 year old has spent his entire professional career at the French club and made his senior debut for them back in 2013. He has been an integral part of the team since then and has established himself as one of the best playmakers in the world.

The France International enjoyed a stellar campaign this season, scoring 23 goals and assisting 9 in 40 appearances in all competitions and helping the team to qualify for Champions League next season.

The midfielder nearly completed a move to Anfield earlier in the summer, with an interview already done with the club’s media team, LFC TV.  But a £53 million move for him fell apart at the start of June when the English side became concerned over issues in his medical.

The German coach was frustrated as the deal fell through and the club attempted to renegotiate the deal by trying to get the asking price lower. But the Ligue 1 giants wanted the asking price in full.

Liverpool have resumed negotiations for Fekir, according to the Mirror . The clubs believe they can reach a compromise and the player can eventually move to England after the World Cup.
