Several teams have entered the competition for Benfica’s Antonio Silva, including Liverpool.

There will be fierce competition in the transfer market to get the highly-rated defender in the forthcoming transfer windows as Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli, and Juventus are reportedly keeping an eye on him.

Despite only making his first-team debut this season, Silva is already seen as a potential prospect and a squad regular thanks to a string of impressive performances at the back. In his sixteen appearances across all fronts, he has managed to score three goals for the Portuguese team.

The 19-year-old is an ideal example of a contemporary ball-playing defender because he is still skilled at playing his way forward from the back. Being Virgil Van Dijk’s understudy and developing into one of the greatest defenders in Europe, he may add additional competition to Jurgen Klopp’s defensive unit.

Klopp has done well to identify him as a prospective target. The Reds’ transfer procedures have always advocated a move for players whose worth could rise in the near future. He would be a fantastic addition to the team, so they should bring him to Anfield during the January transfer window.
