Liverpool considers Morten Frendrup as an ideal replacement for Wataru Endo.

Liverpool have submitted an opening offer to sign Danish midfielder Morten Frendrup from Serie A club Genoa. The 23-year-old is on the radar of Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot. The Reds haven’t made any signings this summer.

Frendrup has been terrific since his arrival at Genoa from Brondby IF in January 2022. He has made 100 appearances for Genoa, scoring four goals and six assists. He is widely regarded as one of Serie A’s top young talents. He is also linked with Liverpool’s rival club Aston Villa.

As per Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, the Reds are leading the race to sign the Dane and have already made an initial offer in the region of £21m. Liverpool considers him as an ideal replacement for Wataru Endo, who has been heavily linked with a move to Marseille in recent weeks.

Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Adrian left the club. Sepp van den Berg is currently of interest to PSV Eindhoven. Liverpool needs to sign few key players ahead of the new season.
