High-profile teams, including Liverpool, have reportedly expressed interest in Denmark’s Patrick Dorgu, a full-back
The 18-year-old Lecce defender made his professional club debut earlier this season. He currently plays for Lecce in Serie A. Kingsley Ogbodo, Dorgu’s agent, stated Liverpool were one of the teams keeping tabs on his client over the summer, even asserting that an approach was “very likely.”
It is highly possible that Liverpool will make an offer, he told Sport Italia. Although I have no idea if that will actually happen, they are intrigued and enjoy the player. The summer transfer season did not yield any offers, despite Barcelona and Manchester City being mentioned as potential suitors.
In response to rumours about his future, Dorgu, who has a contract with Lecce through 2027, told Ekstra Bladet: “I really simply take it as inspiration, that when the major teams look at me, it’s because I’m doing the right thing and must continue. Then it won’t be long before the larger teams start calling. The teenage left defender added that he was a Chelsea supporter growing up, therefore Liverpool is not the team he “dreams” of playing for.
Dorgu, a promising full defender who made an impression in Leece’s development system last season but is little known to most football fans, moved from his home Denmark in 2022. The adolescent, who is of Nigerian heritage, has also played for Denmark’s under-21 young teams.
In the forthcoming transfer windows, Liverpool is rumoured to be trying to strengthen its defensive options. According to Anfield Watch, Piero Hincapie (Leverkusen) and Yukinari Sugawara (AZ) have both been considered.
