Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara delivers statement on future with update

Thiago Alcantara has been heavily linked with the Reds this summer.

The Thiago Alcantara transfer saga continues as the midfielder has denied that he asked to leave Bayern Munich.

The 29-year old was influential in Hansi Flick’s European Cup glory last month but he admitted that the Spaniard would leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the world-class midfielder and is determined to bring him to Anfield as the German coach looks to strengthen his Premier League winning squad.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “Regarding Thiago, it’s known that he told us he wanted to do something new.

“If a club approaches us that is willing to pay a fair transfer fee, we will work on it.”

But the midfielder has denied any such claims made by him who is currently on international duty with Spain.

“I have not told anyone that I’m leaving,” Thiago declared on Saturday. “Every year you put me at a different club.

“For me, my future is tomorrow’s game and there is nothing more to say. I neither care nor am I interested. What interests me is tomorrow.”

According to reports, Barcelona are keen to take back Thiago after to Camp Nou- seven years after letting him leave for German giants Bayern Munich.

“It is an honour that Marc says my name because he is an incredible goalkeeper,” said Thiago, when asked about Ter Stegen’s comments.

“But he is not the technical director of any team and there is no need to give an answer.”
